We all love classic comeback games. How about a compilation of the top 5 greatest comeback games in Champions League Football and NBA Finals?

Here it goes, in no order of merit…

1. Manchester United vs. Bayern Munich in 1999 Champions League Final

This has got to rank among the greatest comeback games in Champions League Final (Until the Liverpool vs Milan game ) Manchester United was down 1-0 in injury time in the 2nd half, when Teddy Sheringham and Ole Solskjaer scored 2 goals in 2 minutes to complete an absolutely remarkable comeback.

2. Liverpool vs. AC Milan in 2005 Champions League Final

Just when you thought there cannot be a better comeback than the Manchester United - Bayern Munich Game. Liverpool was absolutely dead going 0-3 into the 2nd half against a spirited AC Milan team. Nobody expected a miracle but a miracle did happen. Steven Gerrard, “Captain Marvel” brought the team back with fabulous goals to tie the game at 3-3 at full time. Liverpool eventually won on penalties, making this one of the greatest comeback game.

3. La Lakers vs. Boston Celtics In Game 5 of 2008 NBA Finals

No team had ever overcome more than a 15-point deficit after the first quarter, yet when the final horn sounded, the Celtics have rallied from a 24-point deficit and beat the Los Angeles Lakers 97-91 to take a commanding 3-1 lead. It would be difficult to imagine the ending considering the dominance of the Lakers in the opening period…

4. LA Lakers Vs San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 2004 NBA Finals

How often do we have two game winning shots in one NBA game? Heck, how often do we have two game winning shots in less than 1 min left in regulation? This is the game that probably shocked both Spurs and Lakers fans. First by Duncan scored with 10sec remaining, and after he made that shot, there was only four-tenths of a sec left on the clock. And just when everyone thought the game is over, Derek Fisher scored with four-tenths of a sec on the clock. It is totally unbelievable!

5. Arsenal vs. Liverpool in Second Leg 2008 Champions League Semi-Final

The game started with the aggregate score at 1-1, with Liverpool holding the away goal advantage. Arsenal took the initiative with a brilliant goal from Gael Clichy, but Liverpool scored two more goals to put the game seemingly in Liverpool’s favor. Theo Walcott unleashed a devastating run starting from his own penalty box to the other end, and squared for Emmanual Adebayor to score. With the score at 3-3, Arsenal would go through on away goals. With the clock ticking away, it seems almost certain Arsenal will end Liverpool’s Champions League campaign until a moment of magic from Fernando Torres…
