Dara Torres, at age 41, is going to the Olympics for an unprecedented fifth time. It was not so much the frequency of trips to the Olympics that had people gasping. It was the manner she qualified for the Olympics. On July 5th 2008, she broke the US record for 50m Freestyle with a time of 24.38. As if that was not impressive for a grand dame at age 41, she followed that up by breaking the record for the 2nd time in 2 days with a time of 24.25 sec, just .28sec off the current World Record.
Dara Torres, for the time being, is proving that you are never too old for anything. Read more
Confronting Fear
July 27, 2008 by MyRoyalWay · 2 Comments
I feel at times when we want to take actions towards our goals, we are sometimes fearful of the consequences. Sometimes it is also because of our environment, the friends and family we spend most of our time with. Out of good intention, our friends would tell us the chances of us achieving our goals is very slim, or in similar statements. And that has led to us not taking certain actions that we should have taken.
Life is full of Uncertainty, and at the same time it is also Full of Possibilities. The next time you hesitate to take certain action, think about this.
Its NOT the Fear of knowing what could happen if you take certain action. Its about NOT knowing how GREAT you actually are, how much Potential you actually have, how much MORE there is in life, had you taken the action.

Happy
I happen to catch Will Smith’s “Pursuit Of Happiness”. It was two hours long, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
There was this scene at the basketball court where Will said this to his son “Don’t ever let anyone tell you, you can or cannot!” That was a powerful statement to a 5 year old. Imagine the amount of believe the father transferred to the child at that moment.
If I can summarize in one sentence what the show is about, I would say it showed how people can achieve their goals if they are desperate enough. Read more
Michael Jordan On Attitude Of Playing BasketBall
July 10, 2008 by MyRoyalWay · Leave a Comment
Michael Jordan is known for his clutch shooting at the end of game. He relished that challenge. I think this comment was aptly made: “if there was a season where every game he has the game on the line, that would be his dream season!”
In this video, Jordan talked about how approached the game. No matter whether is it at the end of the game or anytime, he always wants the ball. He wants to win.
Jordan feels that he doesn’t always have to take the last shot, but he wants to walk away knowing he had done everything to win the game.

Wimbledon 2008 Mens Singles Final: Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal
July 6, 2008 by MyRoyalWay · Leave a Comment
Image by aldinegirl12 via Flickr Both men are seeking history in their right. Roger Federer is bidding to be the first man since Bjorn Borg to win sixth consecutive Wimbledon titles, and Rafael Nadal will want to be the first man since Bjorn Borg to win the demanding French Open and Wimbledon in the same calender year.
1st set
Both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were displaying amazing forehand that were impossibly placed. The difference was that Roger Federer made at least three back hand unforced errors. His languid style almost seems to suggest that he was more concerned with fine tuning his back hand than whether the ball was in or not.
Federer serve and volley was working to perfection. He won almost every point that he came to the net. However Federer still trailed 5-4 due to a break in serve by Nadal in the third game.
He had three break points in this game but he seemed almost too eager to convert them. His anxiety got the better of him, and he couldn’t convert the break points, handing the set to Nadal. Read more
