TOP Seeded Ana Ivanovic suffered a shocking loss in the 2nd round of the US Opens. She was upset by 188th-ranked Julie Coin in three sets - 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Her loss paved the way for Jelena Jankovic to reclaim the world no.1 ranking…that’s if she do not suffer an early loss just like her Serbian counterpart.

Roger Federer’s Inconsistency Results In Yet Another Upset In Beijing Olympics Tennis Quarter Finals

Roger Federer suffered yet another loss in a forgettable season. This time he lost to American James Blake in the Beijing 2008 Olympics Quarter Finals.
This time, at least he reached the quarterfinals. Federer won his first few matches, including a convincing victory over Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic prior to the clash with Blake.
n fact, despite the media attention to his slumping form, he still won two tournaments this year and got to at least the semifinals in all three Majors thus far!
Put simply, if an unheralded player gets to the semifinals of three majors in a year, he would probably be hailed and showered with affection and praises.

Wimbledon 2008 Mens Singles Final: Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal

Roger Federer is bidding to be the first man since Bjorn Borg to win sixth consecutive Wimbledon titles, and Rafael Nadal will want to be the first man since Bjorn Borg to win the demanding French Open and Wimbledon in the same calender year.
1st set
Both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were displaying amazing forehand that were impossibly placed. The difference was that Roger Federer made at least three back hand unforced errors. His languid style almost seems to suggest that he was more concerned with fine tuning his back hand than whether the ball was in or not.
Federer serve and volley was working to perfection. He won almost every point that he came to the net. However Federer still trailed 5-4 due to a break in serve by Nadal in the third game.
He had three break points in this game but he seemed almost too eager to convert them. His anxiety got the better of him, and he couldn’t convert the break points, handing the set to Nadal. Read more
